(Create an account if you can, it will save your addons and preferences if you ever need to install firefox on a new computer.) uBlock Origin and Privacy Badger are critical, Blocktube is recommended if you ever watch anything on youtube ever. This will make pirate sites functional and the web in general more bearable. I can't emphasize enough how much this will improve your QOL.
Next: Install a VPN on your computer using Windows' """built-in""" VPN. This will feel like pulling teeth but you have to do it I promise. This is the gritty bit that you're otherwise paying someone else a hundred bucks a year to do for you. (seriously, there's a reason I pay annually for mine) You will need you internet provider's login info to do this. If you haven't fucked around with your internet before it's all probably the default info on the back of the router. Make sure you've got this stuff working before you move on.
Fwiw I haven't done the VPN setup on Windows. I don't know how well it works or if that's even the right solution/an appropriate substitute for a paid service. I really really would recommend just biting the bullet and paying for something like Mullvad. $5 a month is less than any streaming service you use right now. here's the correct link
Third: Download Qbittorrent for Windows x64 from fosshub. Install and crack that bad buoy open.
Fourth (IMPORTANT): Bind your network traffic to your VPN. This ensures that all data in and out of your torrent client will run through the VPN and you won't get "ip leaks" which would otherwise alert the comcast boys what you're up to. (Alternatively, some VPNs offer a "killswitch" option which will disconnect your internet if the VPN shuts off for some reason.)
Fifth: turn on your veeP AND START STEALIN. Here's the fun stuff.
I use 1337X for movies. Most of the time I've found that YIFY torrents (uploader YTSAGx) are safe, otherwise download the one with the most seeds (the green number). If there are no seeds you won't get a connection. Click on torrent download and pick the first working mirror. Let windows know you'd like to open .torrent files with qBittorrent to save yourself some time. Open it up and hit ok. Depending on how many people have the file it can take anywhere from 3 minutes to an hour to get your stuff. leave you VPN on and the client open to seed your torrents until your ration reaches 2:1. This is basic etiquette and the reason I recommend saving stuff to your big hard drive if you're going to be stealing a lot. Don't delete files until they're seeded properly.
If your files are missing subtitles use OpenSubtitles to find a workling file. Occasionally you'll get one that's not synced if it's a weird rip (happens with older movies sometimes). Click the little white box to search by language then pick the first file by a verified account.
Anime sites get nuked all the time. I usually have to switch up the site I'm using around every six months. If you're having trouble send me a text and I'll give you the current safe mirror. Games: Official Fitgirl Site is the only place I trust for current-gen games. Her stuff is all cracked so it won't nuke your steam account either. Network play with cracked games came be hit-or miss so.... you've been warmed.
If you haven't had enough hacker sh*t see if you can get Zotify installed. This rules and it feels so good downloading whole-ass music files from your spotify account like its 2003 and we haven't invaded the sovereign nation of Iraq like a bunch of Shit Heads
Emulators for old games are everywhere but would require their own.... whole thing to get into. As long as you have a veep and don't click really shady stuff you're free to roam. Check out the FMHY Reddit for anything else you want.
